Finished this one up today. I forge welded a couple piece of 1080+ so I'd have a large enough piece to forge a good sized blade from. My usual iron fittings and a piece of elk stag for the handle with another two ply sheath.

Great looking knife. I really like how the elk looks.

Will you be doing a forging or other demonstration at this year's show?

Just 2 more weeks.

Mark, Officially I am not signed up for any demos but I've got a feeling I will get asked to do a forging demo. I'll just play it by ear and see what happens.

Seems like every year I sneak out back for a smoke and there you are at an anvil making a lot of noise, with a crowd around you.

Wow Ray, that one is a beauty! Someone is going to get very lucky at the Oregon show.

very nice knife with the period look i love. i lived in gresham from 81 to 83, caught a ton of fish while there & also did well on the hoofed game. sure love that temper line, thanks--dennis

Very Nice Ray. I really like the elk, it has a different look then elk I've seen before, great lines and flow on the whole piece. I doubt it will last long at the show if it even lasts until the show. I really like the sheath too, a very nice touch to a great package.:thumbup:

Bill, I kind of guessed on the piece of stag. I figured it was elk but I'm also thinking it could be a moose spike. Its something that I've had for awhile just like my memory.

if $ wasn't so tight, (egads, when won't it be ) I'd so love to make the trip down to that show. Man, like $500 minimum with me sleeping in my car...but it would so be worth it. Gotta get that passport renewed...

Lorien, Get that passport renewed. Take you bike and leave a few days early and you could save $450.00. One of these years you'll need to take the trip.

Here's the knife in its new home.
