Check out the new push dagger on Mineral Mountain Hatchet Works website, www.mineralmountain.com. It may not be brand new, but I've not seen it before. Its been nearly 6 months since I went to their site though. Seven inch blade, 9.5 overall, nearly 3 inches wide, and 1/4 inch thick. One day, I'm gonna have to buy something from Ted.

Nothing huh? Oh well. I may be the last push dagger fan here, but I doubt it. No one has tried one or bought one lately? I cant afford one, so I was hoping for vicarious living. How about any other Mineral Mountain knife? Some good basic designs meant for use, from what I've seen on the web site.

Since thay are illegal in many jurisdictions, you won't find a lot of people familiar with them.

It seems like a great concept for a last-ditch weapon, but it will generate too much blood in close. An exaggerated version of the problem using most knives for self-defense.

Not sure of the legality. Had Jesper of Vox Knives (Aliass on BFC) make this one for me with a single flat grind rather than the double-edged grind for a true dagger. Does that make it a simple Push "knife"???

She's made of Sandvik with gold MOP scales, black linen micarta spacers,......and some wood I can't remember  Jesper provided his usual custom sheath for belt wear/pocket carry.

Gotta love the Pusher despite what Steppenwolf says....

I just got (as in, arrived in the mail a few minutes ago) a Canadian ulu.
It's over 5" wide, about 1 mm thin, on a narrow metal post with a nicely curved,
push-dagger-like handle. What a slasher! :D

Push dagger restrictions are based primarily on daggers-or-dirks as
stabbing instruments, whether one or two-sided. The two-sided
daggers are just another category of restriction, for areas that might
allow them otherwise.

Once upon a time long, long ago in a thread far, far away, Esav mentioned the Benchmade push dagger. I had always wanted a push dagger just because I did. I just didn't want to pay the price for a custom one and did not want a pos one. I don't carry it, never used it, but I got the Benchmade. Thanks, Esav.

You're welcome. :)

By the way, I won't carry a grossly and unnecessarily illegal weapon on a regular basis, but ...
I do carry the effective equivalent of a push dagger every day.

A Com-Tech Stinger. Same principle of an augmented punch, but for impact instead of blood.

Hey Scott,

Are those the ones from the catalogs, or did you grind your own versions? I've wondered what they would be like. The blade angle seems a bit off, but I've never tried one. Did you do the Kydex sheath as well? Is that G-10 on both handles? Ashtxsniper, I carried the 5" blade Safekeeper for about a year after some armed robberies on campus where my friends lived. The add about extra thin edges was way off but it was a good version of a push dagger.

Whoa!

That Ted Frizzell is a knife god.
Most ashamed to even mention the word CS Mini Pal now.

I love the push dagger concept... my love affair started in my teens with the CS made delta dart made of that kydex/plastic stuff...

as for the ULU, its a fantastic tool.. I use one in the kitchen almost daily...
