Very clean. I like the NS against the bronze. A Lot to like here.:thumbup::thumbup:

Very nice and clean. Hopefully I'll get to see this one in person. I'll be there.

Thanks guys for the great comments! I think this one came out pretty sweet. I wasn't sure about mixing the bronze/nickel but it matched the mesquite real well.
Randy - looking forward to seeing you at the show. stop by and say hey!
Kevin and Scott -you guys gonna be able to make the show?

Steve, unfortunately I will not make it. For years I attended 5-6 knife shows per year but because of commitments I have not attended a knife in a couple years now. Unless you count my going to Blade Show just for the CKCA banquet on Thursday night.
That piece shouldn't last long.

Have to agree with everyone else here. Clean and crisp execution and that bronze looks great!

Thank you for the nice response. The idea is to enjoy making a knife, and I did! and now I'd like to enjoy selling the knife -lol

I love bronze. Even better when its paired with nickel, and the coining just finishes it off for me. Great package.

See, now I don't like NS at all, and wouldn't buy on that point...stainless steel fittings have ruled for a few years, and there are big reasons for that.

The knife is sort of a drop point hunter/utility and that is entry level for many collectors.....fighters and bowies bring the more "discriminating" collectors....this piece with a slightly different plan would have make a nice vest pocket bowie and imo, that is the direction you might have looked at....because there are less makers producing them and more monied collectors looking for them.....late 2013-2014 is going to have a desireability surge for vest pocket bowies.

Out of 13 responses so far, you got 5 positive responses from makers, who do jack to improve your bottom line.....nice for the ego, but that doesn't put money in the bank.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

I don't think it would be too much a stretch to classify this piece as a 'Vest Bowie'. To me it looks more so such than a hunter.

I tried to in my mind amigo, but just could't make the leap....more than anything else it is the handle shape that pushes it towards hunter/utility.

Take care, and

thanks again for all the kind comments. Yes, it's always nice to get a good ego stroke (which of us doesn't like that), although I can take constructive criticism pretty good.

Steven - please don't be shy, tell me what you think - lol!
Seriously though, all good points you bring. I do think it leans more towards a vest bowie-although the handle does drop a little more which can give it a more utility style. I don't use a lot of nickel silver-like you said mostly stainless steel rules, but the NS patina blended nicer and looks richer with the bronze and mesquite handle. imo
