This is my new model Copperhead Black Ops. The coating is KalGard Industries GunKote, my pick of the best of the best coatings. The neutral handle shape allows use in a wide variety of grips. The hollowgrind is the first I've gone on these knives. The grind is deep and aggressive and progresses to a thicker "reinforced" tip for added strength. The sheath allows carry in a full drop position or a high ride position. Thanks for looking. Jason.

It's beautiful, J!!! I love it, especially the new grind and that little curve on top of the guard. Any chance you'll be sending your email to your subcribers anytime soon? ;)

Eric.

Great job Jason, that one really looks great, my favorite yet. I saved the picture so I can look at it again and again.

Take care,
Jared

I'm curious as to how the partially textured handle feels after using it for a while. In "theory" it shouldn't be as ergonomic as a completely textured handle, but then it wouldn't look as cool.

Also, is there a functional purpuse to the indentation in metal portion of the guard tip? You made a point of highlighting it in the picture, and I was scratching my head as to its purpose.

I bet a version with a slight recurve on the blade would look cool.

As always, it's fun to look at and read about your knives, Jason.

Thanx for the feedback.

I actually offer this knife WITHOUT any dimples - it is quite comfy and secure that way, but I found a handle completely covered with dimples CAN become a bit abrasive. 1/2 dimpled was a good compromise. Also ...

This knife was / is designed for our troops overseas. The guys I consulted for the design of their liking, indicated that they normally wore combat gloves with the index finger, thumb and maybe the 3rd finger exposed. The gloves over the dimpled area provides a very positive grip while the other forward fingers can manouvre around without getting punished.

I too wonder about Long Term comfort. But this knife would generally not be used for extended chopping tasks. For such a knife like a machete, I'd reconsider the texture on the handle. Jason.

PS.- The notch in the guard exists on all my "Copperhead" models - its to index the edge up / down in the dark with your thumb on the guard. Cheers.

wow, i love that blade shape!!!

i too would be interested in seeing a variation with a recurve..

i'd love to see it in a black handle of some sort!

Another nice one Jason! For a combat/utility, I love the blade's tip configuration for strength... The handle's attractive for this kind of package - not sure about it tho' unless I could handle it - I guess I have other handle shape preferences... That being said, I don't think I'd turn it away if someone got it for me for Christmas... LOL!!!:D

Yet another superb piece from Jason !

I'd love to see that in a satin finished blade and a touch of hamon! :D

Overall, great. I like the handle. It has its own personality.

A man's knife. That's for sure. :)
