From Cooper's Corner in this month's edition of Guns & Ammo ( picked it up cause they tell of Remington's resurection of the 350 mag - read the story and Remington's making the same mistakes as they did to kill it off 30+ years ago ).

He related in Idaho at the start of WWII one band of Shoshone heard about the war and a couple dozen warriors showed up at the county seat with their 30-30's wanting to know where the war was. If there was a war, they felt, they should go fix it!

This was in no way meant to demean the Shoshones, but was told to emphasize what Cooper felt was the right attitude on their part, and too bad for us it isn't emulated by the non-NDN's today as signs of an approaching buildup are being seen.

I can tell you that all the warriors who came back to Schurz after the Gulf War were honored, including the whites whose parents worked for the tribe and grew up as "one of them" going to their schools.

Thanks Bro.:)
Per capita the ndns have always volunteered the most.:)

When former ghorka Kami Sherpa considers you to be a Sherpa ( or at least a kindred soul ), there isn't much more to be said, elder brother.
