One Hand Fireman vs. One Hand Trekker

In my search for EDC I checked out (a few weeks apart) a OHT and OHF. If my memory was correct (it may not be) the one hand blade on the One Hand Fireman was nice and tight side-to-side but the One Hand Trekker had a bit of play. Was this my imagination or sample-to-sample variation or normal?
 
I believe there is a big difference between side-to-side and vertical play. Although my OHT (the german army version) doesn't suffer of any kind of play, if the blade moved - even slightly - from side to side I would have returned it to the shop. It could weaken the liner-lock and make the blade unsafe to use, in my opinion.
