Is there any way to get a One-Handed Centurion? I used an Adventurer for a while until my toddler tossed it...funny story. Not. Bought a Centurion on line and fell in love. It was the knife I carried every day for at least the last five years until I sent it off to the Victorinox repair people for maintenance. They sent me back a One Hand Trekker. Not to complain but I'd prefer a one-handed Centurion or even a plain Centurion

Any ideas?

I love centurion that i bought another for back up. I dont use saw so a centurion is all essential tools are perfect.. The serated blade on oht is great, but wont be easy for me to sharpen.. Never seen a one hand centurion, but one hand centurion with plain blade would be my favorit.

I think that if you have the right tools, you can swap blades. Buy a Centurion and swap its blade with the blade on the Trekker. If your Trekker has a serrated blade and you don't want that, look for a one hand Sentinel with plain edge blade and use that blade.

I have to say that in your position I might have complained to Victorinox, I don't think it unreasonable to expect the same knife back as you sent in.

I don't believe they do a OH Centurion (though you'd think they would) but you do have the option of pulling apart your OHT and rebuilding it without the saw layer.

Another option would be to look at the Wenger Ranger SAKs, something like the Rangergrip 60 might suit your needs. Be warned though, they're a lot thicker than their Vic counterparts. This article gives a good idea of the differences.

Test-drove the Trekker but don't like the saw tip, too heavy for EDC even with my strap set up. Can't use a belt sheath or pouch where I work. So I'll send it back tro Victorinox and see about getting a Centurion.

Wenger 16314 Swiss Army RangerGrip 60 Knife, Red and Black that's why I got.

The Trekkers (and all three layer SAKs) are too heavy for pocket carry for me. I have the one-handed non-serrated Trekker. Their utility for me is hiking where I might have use for the longer saw blade. When they first came out, only a camo version was available. I later got the regular colored scales.

I also carry the Adventurer. I have at least one Centurion which I picked up a couple years ago when I was looking at the new at that time one-handed models. It's still in the box as it's hard to displace my Adventurer. I heard they discontinued the Adventurer, so I bought a couple more last year.

If looking for one and I haven't (assuming they are discontinued), I'd look at the various online knife retailers and when you find a place that has them, buy several.

Historical note: Victorinox Adventurer is the Centurion's slide lock predecessor. There was a BGS (Bundesgrenzschutz - German Border Police) version of the Adventurer with a white German Eagle on olive drab scales and BUND etched on blade. This (and possibly a BGS Centurion) was the official knife of the German Border Police until they adopted the liner locked German Army Knife. The Netherlands armed forces used the Centurion before adopting the Dual Pro in 2010. The BGS and DAK Adventurers and Centurions can occasionally be found on German eBay and other EU auction sites. They are not collector's items but there aren't many of them.

To my knowledge, there has never been a one-handed Centurion.

Interesting post and good history lesson. You made me curious about just what "I have". Well...guess what? MY Centurion is not a one-handed knife. I have never used it for anything, so it just sort of sits in the cabinet in the original box. I believe I picked it up looking for another Adventurer and settled for the regular liner lock Centurion at the time. I was confusing it with the One-handed Sentinel which is a one-layer SAK.

I have the Dual Pro. Not a bad knife especially if you like a 3-layer and both the serrated seat belt blade and non-serrated regular blade. Both blades are liner locked.

I found photos, note the tweezers/toothpick.

In 2005, the Bundesgrenzschutz (BGS, Federal Border Patrol) was renamed Bundespolizei (BPOL, Federal Police). The EU had open borders and the old name was a Cold War relic. On 13 September 2015, Germany reintroduced border controls and the BPOL resumed border patrol duties.
