One handed slipjoint options

Hi all,

Apart from Spyderco's slip-it offering, and a couple options from Case, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of one-hander slipjoints. I'm looking for a FFG blade, between 2 1/2 and 2 3/4 inches long, although a bit shorter or longer isn't a deal breaker. Spyderhole or thumb stud makes no difference. My UKPK is a tad long for my tastes, and I'm looking at the Urban pretty heavily. Does anyone have any recommendations along these lines?

Thanks,

Keith

Look for a "razor" pattern (sometimes called a "one-arm jack") :)

I like the Case Mid Folding Hunter model of the slip joint one hand opening pocket clip equipped models I've owned including some already mentioned. They are nice too. The UKPK is a great little design but the lock on the Case even if it is the old style electricians knife type lock its still a lock so I kind of like that as a back up. I kind of like the traditional leanings of the Case for the slip joint quality it adds. I've got two of those Mid Folding Hunters, one in the carbon steel or CV as they call it and the other in stainless. I like both. They don't kill the wallet real bad either.

Spyderco's Byrd line has a dual bladed slipjoint. There's a newer Boker Los Banos model that is a slipjoint. CRKT's older Edgie is a quirky slipjoint.

Thanks for the recommendation guys. I like the look of the Edgie, actually. Not sure how the self sharpening works, but they look pretty cheap.

Didnt Buck make something called a "Crosslock' with thumb studs and liner locks?

You could also forego even a backspring and look into some friction folders, they've really spiked in popularity over the last few years.

The "sharpener" sucks. Fortunately it's easy to take the knife apart and remove it.
