I have recently purchased both the One handed trekker and Vic Hunstman lite (white LED, pen, plus regular huntsman tools). They are both fantastic tools but I am torn as to which should be my EDC. The huntsman is more practical because of the lite and pen but the trekker has such a nice blade! Maybe I will keep the Trekker in my hiking pack and use it for outdoor pursuits only. Any thoughts?

I have a trekker and a huntsman lite, both are great.I think the huntsman makes a great edc,not a bad knife for the woods either.I really like the phillips driver being up front on the H lite. The trekker is one of my favorites for camping, hiking etc.

I have an ancient 84mm Huntsman in semi-retirement and an Outrider. The Outrider has the tools of the Huntsman but in the locking, 111mm format.

and have for many years. It is the same size as your OHT (with slightly different tool selection). It works well for me. One consideration is width. Your huntsman is wider (but shorter) than the OHT. This may come into play with how they ride in your pocket. I would carry each for a week and see if that helps you decide.

I think both the huntsmen and trekker are too large for pocket EDC. I would recommend carrying them in a pouch. I would go for a huntsmen + locking blade combo if possible. Use the locking blade for the knife and use the huntsmen for the tools.

I have a few regular huntsmen and an OH Trekker.Great knives. I have on different occasions carried either model in the coin pocket in my jeans. However i generally find fours layers is almost too much for pocket carry. 1-3 layers is ideal.

And the huntsman light is almost 2 layers thicker than the regular huntsman. That one led/philips layer is equal to the thickness of the scissors and saw layers put together. despite that I still want a huntsman light, actually i want a swisschamp with an led too, lol!
I fluked into a "brand new in the blister pack" spartan lite a few months back for 9$! I really love that little led!
:)

I carry a regular Huntsman daily just dropped in the bottom of my pocket. I don't think that it can be beat. It has everything you need, and nothing you don't.

Yes, I agree with the above comments. If it werent for the LED light on the Huntsman, I might just stick with the slimmer package of the Trekker. A solution might be to simply add a small LED light to the keyring of the Trekker or to a regular Huntsman.

oh, if you settle for the regular huntsmen, I would recommend getting the plus version so you get a pen, pin, and mini screw driver :D
