Hi, I´m collecting production folders (my price limit being $100). I want one Kershaw folder for my collection. I cannot decide between:
1- Speed Bump
2- Junkyard Dog II
3- Cyclone
Wich one would better represent Kershaw in my collection?
Your opinions will be appreciated!

I have all three of these, but my cyclone is TI/ZDP. I would recommend the TI/zdp cyclone but thats out of your price range. They are all great representations of Kershaw, however I'm going to say the speed bump. I would say it is the most unique knife of the three.

Bump because of the stud lock. Cyclone for the "on/off" SpeedSafe switch. JYD II for the composite blade...decisions, decisions...:D

Well you're a whole lotta help there, DV.:D

He does have a point though. Eventually you will have to have all three of them, plus a veritable plethora of other Kershaws, I assure you;)

For the sake of being helpful though, let me say....get the composite JYD II first. It's a great knife with interesting features and a killer flipper. Enjoy that one for a while, then you can focus on the rest.

Cheers,
Jon

I mention this because all three are unique to Kershaw. No other manufacturer, to my knowledge, offers these features.

Wait...wait...it's coming to me...

We need a stud-lock, SpeedSafe on/off switched composite blade knife! Call it the Bump Yard Cyclone! :D

I'm brilliant! :D

Jonnymac44: I find the composite JYD II very interesting...
SPXTrader: I have to decide between one of the three listed until they come with the "Bump Yard Cyclone"...

It's so hard to decide!...

OK, is there anything specific you intend to use it for? Work or something?

Or we can try a different approach. Is having a SpeedSafe knife important? Both the Bump and Cyclone have it.

Although my personal favorite model of the 3 is the Junkyard Dawg II, I think the Speed Bump best represents Kershaw if you are only going to have one of their knives in your collection. It features 2 innovations that the company pioneered in production knives, the SpeedSafe AO and the Stud Lock.

ikidd, what commodore says is correct...The Bump has the stud lock and SpeedSafe. But from a collection point of view, the Composite Blade technology on the JYD II CB is cutting edge, no pun intended.

All 3 are uniquely Kershaw...this is probably the hardest question posed that I can remember...

I have 2 out of the 3 here (Cyclone and JYD2) and I favor the Cyclone - that is the knife that this year got me back into collecting again - great knife!

Of the three you listed, I would go with a JYDII CB. However, I would consider getting a Leek CB :) That knife just drips Kershaw.

SPX Trader -

I think a CYCLONE Yard Bumb would be a better knife name....

Yes! Yes! Yes!
