Just one more proto before getting down to business
Constructive comments welcome on design changes as I said it is a prototype
Handle material will be Black G10 with a steel pommel, 154cm as the blade material on the final model
Thanks for looking

I like it. Looks like an 'Urban Mistress'. Personally I'd like more of the mistress shape and a skull crusher. Will it be getting a Bos HT?

Siga
That is a perfect name for this blade...mind if I use it?
Iron mistress is one of my fav blade styles

Hope your kiddin

Ol paul is pricing his work pretty high as of late...but a definite option.
Just would add a few $s to the price

For chopping it will be nice to have bit wider of thicker butt, kind of hook for little finger. IMHO.

Thanks, Vassili.

Actually the Pommel end is as wide as the palm swell for a reason. Easy to hang on to and can be used in any position almost immediately. Still gives a very secure grip and fill the hand.

Another nice beast!

But, like I had to ask another maker in another thread just recently, are there any problems using G10 as a guard material? And again, I only ask as if it is used in a "combat" environment, a parry could drive the opponent's blade edge first into the G10 - would it hold up?

Otherwise, I have to say I like the handle shape for it's apparent ease of manipulation and retention security... All's I'd add would maybe be a slightly deeper choil for close up work... but since I haven't handled this model, that may not matter the way you have it now...

Joe
Why most certainly it would hold up. When I pounded (With a 8oz Ball pein hammer) on the point of another blade to drive home the tang into a solid block of G10. I used a scrap piece to protect the knife point, after considerable "Persausion" the tang sunk home.
The G10 scrap had an 1/8" deep impression from the point.
Ask ol Kevin McClung
Far more likely to get a slash on the guard and not a point. Which in that case I would like to see someone with brute strength alone cut thru a 3/8" thick piece of G10 without chopping on it for quite some time:D

Since I haven't any personal experience with a guard that large in G10, I was curious... Thanks!!

Joe I was a sceptic as well untill I decided to do a little test G10 VS Micarta
Took a piece of ea and slammed it with a 5lb sledge hammer on top of my anvil.
The Micarta crumbled and smashed the G10 barely a noticable impression where the hammer hit.
Try it
Very convincing
