Alright I need to buy one more knife for use at work. So far its come down to a Buck Strider SBMF, CRKT H.U.G., MOD Caracara, or Cold Steel Recon 1 Tanto Point.

Alright Put Your votes and opinions in.

Thank You

that's quite a range there...

i the Cold Steel and the CRKT seem like pretty low-end steel choices for the price, and maybe the SBMF too

what are you planning on doing with this thing?

get a mini manix, tank of a knife that will last forever, and take a beating. With some cleaning every now and then, it will look brand new. S30v sharpens super nice, and g-10 cleans up well and will last forever. The full flat ground blade cuts like a light saber. Lock up is like a bank vault. Just get one even if you think it looks ugly. I once did and now I love the looks of spyderco's. With use the looks will rub off on you, and you'll see ugly as beautiful. I would get plain edge. Some people complain about weight on this knife but I don't even feel thins knife anymore or less than any other heavy duty knife.

i finally held a full-size Manix the other day, it's a monster. i'm going to have to pick one up eventually

my first thought was a Benchmade 710 though

The 710 is a great knife, would also make a great EDC. I said mini manix because it is a heavy duty use type knife. But the 710 is no sissy of a knife either. But its not a beater like the mini manix.

Reaper,
Son .. you gotta take two steps back ... a deep breath ... and get it together.
You are all over the map.
From high end Trisula grinds to loosing knives. Not good.

Four knives with four different uses. The one common feature is the tactical styling - which is your focus?

What you cut on a daily basis is the key. A good all around utility folder of decent quality comes with a drop point, flat grind, higher alloy steel with a comfortable smooth grip, and maybe capable of use in gloved hands.

Ontario Rat Folder, Griptillian, Manix, or Kershaw Vapor.

Get the Buck Strider. It is a good all around knife with good ergonomics. I've had one for a week or so and It beats all my other (CRKT Desert Cruiser and Crawford Falcon, Byrd Cara Cara FRN, Kershaw Vapor and KABAR TDI) knives in most all categories.
