Progunner sent me a pic of some of his Busses and I thought I'd get it posted for all to see.

Nice looking set of Busses and a great layout of discontinued Basics.

The best part is they all look well loved ;):D

Progunner,
Let me know when you get that variant ;):D

I have to confess that the top Basic 9 was given it's love by another fellow forumite, Don Rac. I traded him a tomahawk for her. Ain't she beautiful?

Very nice progunner!

I've been very impressed with my Basic 5. So much that I've got a Basic 9 coming from another forumite and I've got my eye on a basic 7. I really like the way the resciprene(sp?) handle sort of grips you back in a very comfortable way. Plus they have that sort of Glockish beauty in an extremely functional sort of way, if you know what I mean.

I kind of like the basics too, they have grown on me. The Steel Heart at the left is my first Busse and I took her out and beat her real good when I got her. I picked up the Basic 5 at a gun show in my area for a reasonable price. I wasn't infatuated with it or anything. The guy didn't want a mint for it and I figured, if anything, I can turn around and sell it for a profit to go toward buying more CG blades. It was the first and last Busse knife I have seen at any gun show in the central Illinois area, so I had to snatch it up. I started carrying it with me and I think it is a good size. Then I traded guy for the Badger Attack-E and the Basic 3. Well that little Basic 3 has been with me everyday since. I even made it a little kydex sheath to sit in. Like everybody here, I am chomping at the bit for "THE FOLDER" when it comes to fruition. My safe is already full of guns that my wife hasn't seen and now it looks like they will be joined by a bunch of pointy brothers and sisters. Go figure.:D

I concur that the security offered by the Basic handles is one of the many good points of these knives. While working from the roof of my garden shed to whack 'n hack at branches I found yet another thing I like about the Basic resiprene handle: When I lay the knife down on the roof (composition shingles) the handle is grippy enough that it holds the knife in place. A micarta or other hard handle would have had the knife skittering down the slope & off the edge of the roof.

BTW Progunner, that's a nice bunch o' Busses. :)

Does my heart good to see some weel loved Busse knives, especially the Basics. The top does look like it was ridden hard and put away wet.:D

The handles of the Bsics was one of my favorite features/characteristics of these knives.

Nice collection Progunner.

All I can say, is buy another safe!!!!:D Your gonna need it.;)

Yeah, I'll probably need a new safe. The wife will take the current one in the divorce if she ever gets wind of all the toys I have acquired under the table:D Oh well.

I keep coming back to look at this picture again. I wish I'd never traded my Basic 9, worst move I've ever made. :(

Hey, were'd you get those 9's maybe one is mine ;):D

I've never had any of the Basic line. You guys are making
me feel like I missed out on something good!!:(

Eric,
The top one I got from Don Rac here from the forums and the second one I got on ebay from bobwinwolf NIB. They are an antiques etc. dealer in Beloit if I remember right. The second one is pristine and will likely stay that way. The other is clearly going to be my user. It came with a very nice OD kydex sheath from David Brown and the blacke kydex drop legs sheath. I dig that drop leg rig man. The NIB 9 had the leather sheath. If ever I decide to get rid of it, I'll keep you in mind, but don't hold your breath.:D

Strabs,
I have a Flying Badger Attack in satin coming and the triple hump variant Marc posted a while back. Pics will be forthcoming when they come in. Who knows what else I might happen upon in the course of the next few weeks or months, the new models should be coming soon after all.

Chip,
You did miss out, but man they are out there, get your hands on a few of them, you won't be sorry.

John
