If your favorite Emerson Knife is a liner lock, would you want the option of it being in a frame lock? If so, explain why and if you think there would be any pros (stronger lock) or cons (maybe price increase).

I love my commander the way it is, but if it was sold in a frame locked version I would buy it in a heart beat even if the price raised up an extra $50.00 usd on the MSRP.

Frame locks all the way. A frame lock Kerambit, 14, mini-7 and Persian would be good

I think the pros. vastly out weigh the cons.
The only real con. is the price increase but your getting more knife for your money so it dosnt really count. :)

IIRC the price increase between a LL and a frame lock is more than $50.

right now the only emerson liner locks i carry are a custom specwar CQC13, & no i wouldnt convert that, i wouldnt mod any emerson custom FWIW.

i suppose i would mod a production if it didnt run too much, maybe, i havent had bad luck with EKI liner locks.

Definitely... the only downside is the cost. However, if you've looked at the price for titanium lately (continuing to climb), it's not really that outrageous of a price increase for the product that you end up with. YMMV

In 2002, I think, I asked Emerson for a frame-lock folder and was told, "it aint gonna happen." I'm glad there are some frame-locks available now but you have to strike when the iron is hot!

I would love to see some frame lock versions. Not that I could buy as many as I want. But I would definately have at least one or two. I dont see myself buying anymore linerlocking knives so frame lock would be the way to go for me.

I would love my cqc10 in a frame lock. But I have Never had a problem with its liner lock, but I am well aware that it is a Liner locking blade and always keep that in the back of my mind.

Frame locks would be nice. I am having an issue with my cqc13 not locking after fully engaging the wave. It makes a real nice "shwthwak" noise and most emersons make after being opened but the liner lock doesn't engage.

I'd love to see an Emerson with one of those AUTO Lock systems like the stuff from CRKT. Might be some blaspheming on my part.

why in the world would you want autolawks on EKI??

it is blasphemy imho lol, & it'll never happen.

the only reason CRKT uses it is there locks are so sorry, if the lock is fitted correctly ya dont need it anyway.

i have had a lot of EKI's, certainly dozens, and have used a few of them and used them fairly hard, & i havent had any problems and never ever even once thought "gee i wish this had autolawks" on any EKI, or for that matter any liner locking folder from a decent maker ie BM, microtech, strider, spyderco, al mar, buck, etc.

heck i dont even like it on CRKT's really lol.

Of the Emersons I've got, I carry my 10 the most. I'd LOVE to see an framelock option on these, even if the framelock was born of something like 410 stainless (like Kershaw uses) rather than titanium. I'd say, (depending on price) sign me up! :)

Haze, lol! (Kinks> "Give the people what they want!!!" HAAAAY ERRRNIE!!!
