While at and in the process of stopping my train... I had a Forrest Gump moment.

Awwwwwe, something bit me on the butt!!! 😆 Ok, it was my arm, and the little bastard stung me!

So there I am, try to stop a train, get a bee out off my arm and grab my knife with my offhand. Had to scrape the stinger off my arm with my knife.

Not allergic, took a couple antihistamines to lessen the effect, still hurts like heck.

How long is your train normally? I've seen them a couple miles long (my estimate) around Kelso, driving from Vegas to Joshua Tree.

Depends on the train, the longest I ever ran was about 18,000 feet. That was a stack train (containers on it).

Today's was just under 12,000 feet, was manifest freight (box cars, tanks, autoracks).

The heaviest train I've had was just over 22,000 tons.

A credit card will work too.

I don’t understand bees that sting just for the fun of it. I leave them alone they should leave me alone.

Most all bees are female.....Mostly.
So, That's the reason......doesn't make sense. ;)
Drones (Males) are only made late in the season, to breed with the Queen.
Not sure even If they can sting?

Where do you run? I live in the San Joaquin valley, and I usually only see Union Pacific. Occasionally I see trains well over a mile long. And really long ones when I drive to Utah.

Kelso - You are getting into the sticks there.

Right now I work in the L.A. Basin.

I have been on every run that we cover or have covered in the past.

Been up the coast, Bakersfield, Yermo and Yuma.

Mk-211 Mk-211 I took it you were in that vicinity, from a pic you posted.

L lambertiana , yeah Kelso sure is out there. That is how I drop down to JT, I-15 to Nipton Rd. few more turns through the Mojave. The road is so much fun to drive really fast when there's nobody around. The very long trains I've seen are Union Pacific.

Old pics, Cap Rock.

That pic is over by Mira Loma, there's the auto facility for new vehicle deliveries, manifest yard for the local jobs and TTX repair plant for railcars.
