This is a one of a kind Applegate-Fairbairn fighting knife made for me by Bill Harsey. Usually they are made with Lexan handle and brass guard. This one has micarta handle and stainless steel guard. This knife is a serious fighter . The proportions and balance are perfect and it is lightning fast in the hand. I have handled few Boker made knives and never liked them, but finally I can appreciate the beauty of Col. Applegate's design. When I work with this knife it feels like the handle is glued to the hand.

Great knife, certainly looks very effective. That would make a nice addition to any collection. Did it happen to come with a sheath?

Enjoy it.

It appears that there are subtle differences in the handle shape(from std. AF's) that would make it a little more comfortable. A bit of a palm swell, smoother transition to the finger groves at the front. It looks nice.

Very nice. I really like the propartions of the handle to the blade and the handle looks like it will stay put. Much nicer looking than a Boker.

Very nice.., I actually never liked the Boker version either. This one looks like "The Real Deal"...

I agree with the last comment entirely :)I'm glad it found a home up here :D

As a 'dyed in the wool' A/F collector, I've got to say that I'm truly "Wow'ed!"

Looks like I need to give big Bill a call!

What was your wait time? And if you would, drop me a private email with the price...or list it here.

We have around 10 fixed blade 'standard' A/F's, and are always looking for more.

Funny thing is...we spent a half-hour with Bill at the OKCA show, and he never once mentioned or showed us anything like that one...

"Sweet!"

Treat her well my friend...you have a keeper there (unless you want to sell...lol) ;)

I would say that the wait period was close to a year. It would have been less, but several things happened. First , the war in Afganistan. Bill notified me that he recieved large number of orders from military personel right away and was giving them a priority. Then later he sustained a work injury. As to a price, I had to pay extra of course for all requested modifications, but at the end I think both me and Bill were excited about the final product. I knew that sooner or later this post will catch Melvin-Purvis attention. If you can convince Bill to make another one for you, you will not regret it.
