Imperials are one of my favorite brands to collect. Here is most of my meager collection. I have about 3 more scout knives not shown. Always looking for more whenever I`m out.

I have the exact BSA scout knife(blue one), I picked it up of the bay for a good deal and it was barely used. Reminds me of my grandfather who was huge into the BSA. Nice collection John!

Hi John -

Cool - I saw a few of those at the local flea market last weekend.

Do you put a "manufactured" date on them via the tang stamp?

I picked up a very nice one last week, and the tang stamp indicates this one was made between 1946 and 1956.

I have been looking for them since I found out you collect them, but many of them are not in good shape.

Do you have any history on the maker and range of dates when they were made etc?

best regards -

Is there a place that tells what year they were made by the tang stamp?

Maybe this might help.

BTW, nice Imperials. I collect them as well. I have MANY examples. I particularly like the style called Tu-tone. They are a stamped shell knife, but I like the colors.

Sweet collection! Thanks for the info, I copied the photos into a folder. It looks like all of mine were made between 1956-1988.

Thanks Glenn - Awesome collection!

I never run into those two-tone knives at the flea markets - I mostly find Kamp Kings or Kamp Buddys etc.

Thanks for the tang stamp info and the sweet pictures.

best regards -

Those are both great collections. I've never seen the "two tones" before, very nice! I picked up a Kamp King with a celluloid handle at a flea market recently. It was in pretty good shape but nowhere near as nice as those!

My first 2 folders were the Kamp King and the blue scout knife. I rebought a scout when my sons were young and joined scouting. I also had a Barlow like the one above, but it and the Kamp King have long disappeared. I'm able to afford more expensive folders, but looking at these reminds me that there really isn't a need to....just a want.

Thanks for sharing!
