was a 442 BuckLite along with a 119. This one here replaced my older one. I love the 442. It is my EDC/Survival knife. I have used one for the last 11 years.
Just thought I'd share this.

the 442 is a sadly under rated and under used knife!
i love the 426 verson of it!

...Great knife that 442...I'm kina partial to this version of the 442 myself...:p...Click the thumbnail twice...

( those aren't dents in the bolsters...it's reflections off the ceiling... )

Nice!:thumbup: That must be a rare one.

...I don't know if I'd call it rare...It might be better called a "Mangler's Special"...:p...It jus' kina fell together I'd guess...:D

hay clint has one with an anvil mark on the blade and it is in a 2002 brass handle ... he got it in a cracker jack box from post falls !
darn half sized little knife...
should been called the 75 as it is less the 3/4 the size of a 110!
break the blade on a 110 and you will have a 112 sized blade in a handle a big man can hold!
jest jokeing now! i is a jest a 110 man ya know hee hee hee :D

Here's my version, which was my first "tactical" knife....way before all the fancy ones that are out now. It worked great.

I like my 442 as well, it is also one of the FEW AND FAR BETWEEN folders that Buck put a reversible pocket clip for southpaws on.

Subtle enough? :D

hay watch it ! you will get bucksway too excited with picts like that!

my mother was a south paw... i know she some times said of it is a right hand world
but she was glad that they no longer make kids use their right hand like they did...
i dont think the 426 ever had a clip...

No, but the 428 Selector is one of the few knives that actually had the nail nick on the right side of the blade for lefties.

Mike, you have some RARE RARE 112s......Next time you dig a few out to play with post some info on the "Offical 112 " thread...Thanks!!!!! Us 112 guys feel a little neglected at times...

Morablades, Who owned your 442 the first 11yrs. of its life?
Darrly, That is a good looking drop pt. and handle. Too bad its not 425 steel as Mora's. Still, nice looking package. Mike, I've been looking for a 112 like that.
My wife carries a 426 and loves it. Thanks for sharing!! DM

...Dave...If Mora's first Bucklite was the 442, 11 years ago, with the drop point blade it wasn't 425M steel...It was 420HC as the first 442 came out in the 1996 catalog. I'd guess the only 425M Bucklites were made prior to 1994and they would be 422's, a clip point...The blade I have in the picture is shown to be dated 1995 and was probably stamped out prior to formal catalog introduction...:)

Darryl, Yes, but what I'm saying is, that the first time that knife was introduced was (atleast according to the Club files) in 1986 and it came out w/ a drop pt. blade and yes, I think the model # your quoting is correct 422. Yes, later a clip pt.. But those early ones had handles made of Valox and no holes. So, he does have the later version not the early one. Both still, appeal to me as a good user/carry knife of enough size. DM

...If you look at a 1986 catalog Dave, you'll see that the 422 was a clip point blade. It was introduced in the 1984 catalog as a clip point as well in 425M...Great knife then and today if you can find one...

Darryls, OK, I reread the club site. Your right the 422 was not offered w/ a drop pt.. Those that followed quickly behind were. The 424 and 426 were first offer w/ drop pt. blades.Yes, in 1984 using 425 steel. These are the ones I like better. Are we in agreement now? DM

...LOL...you betcha Dave...I have always had a soft spot for those early drop point 426's and 442's myself...Here's a couple of the "big guys" I found in the drawer...They're both 426's...click the thumbnail...:p
