...big bowie projects. This knife is kind of a blend between two of my other bowie knives. The "Dark Rider" with a handle set-up similar to the "Old Pine" bowie. So I'm calling this one the "Dark Rider-Second Night", hope you like it.

The blade is 10" long (flat ground) with forged finished flats and 1000 layer damascus in a "ladder" pattern (5160, 15N20, 1084, L6 & 1018 steels). The S-guard and pommel are etched wrought iron with file worked accents. The pommel also has a damascus finial (both the pommel and finial are threaded). The handle is Desert Ironwood Burl with a double throat of Azurite/Malachite stone and black/nickle-silver spacers. Tess did a nice post sheath for this one with window inlays of Fish-skin (Carp). The knife is a bit over 16" from tip to tip.

Man! You make outstanding cutlery. That's downright gorgeous. Your talent really shows.

That is a beautiful blade. I love the long clip. I love the look of the forged flats. If I forged I'd definately try that. I think this has to be one of my favorites from you. You and your wife make a great team.

Thanks guys. I apprecite the kind words. I like these big dammy Bowies with the forge-marked flats. Done several to date but, none were take-downs.

J,
That's some IMPRESSIVE work there bud! I'll be contacting you with some "how do I do I build this stick tang" questions soon. I have to try doing some. Haven't yet.

Very nice Damascus in that blade J. The heat from the forge felt mighty good these last few days. It was 5 here this morning.
