everything from stuff bags, to repairs, to shirts, to weighted blankets, doo rags , custom sized bandanas, I like a bandana a little bigger and a little heavier cloth . Standard store bought bandanas are 21 x21 I have settled on 24 x24 being a better size for me. I buy 2/3 yd of fabric cut it to the same width it takes 3-4 minutes to run a hem on a serger I have a left over that I can make small projects with or make a mini bandanas like Pappaws for the grandkids I even made a wallet I wear 8 1/8th hat so I wear doo rags a lot I have one with fabric with bacon print one with vintage fishing lure print 2 with Christian themes
Some of my bandanas with a store bought one for size reference. The weighted blanket was the most important project I have made My grand daughter is mildly autistic weighted blankets help this . It is a comforting thing She values things from Pappaw and Gigi My daughter is a social worker with kids and other family members that are experts in this field we decided If I made the blanket it would have even more comforting factor Took me 4.5 hours to make a 40 x50 throw and $40 material well worth it to help my girl
But do you sew ?

What I really need to do is stay away from shopgoodwill.com I have another vintage White zigzag machine inbound

Yeah, sure, I need to stay away from BF because I have a Spyderco Mike Draper on the way. Like either of us is going to do it.

True but I have been not bidding on stuff that is inexpensive if some one else bids . Since I have a few machines I will usually wait until the second time it is listed then . The machine I bought was on the third time they had listed it . Whites from the 60's don't bring what the singers do and are most of the time better machines . I don't want to knock some one out that doesn't have a machine that could need one . That being said if another one like the blue and white machine comes up in good shape it is on !! And yes I have all ready checked if there was anything interesting ending today

That Black Singer on the left...how much is one like that worth?

I have one that is why I am asking.
If you have the bentwood cover and it is an original hand crank in good shape they go for $250-$400 on ebay Cover won't fit on one that was originally an electric and converted with out taking off the hand crank. there are repro hand cranks available to convert old electrics and singer made a reproduction special run a while back serial number can date it on singer websight I have had that one 10-14 years I have around $125 in it
BTW I have turn down $350 for mine I have a stand that allows me to use the 3000 yard serger thread spools and the survivalist in me thinks a hand powered machine could come in handy some time

Thanks for that info. For that value I would rather hold onto mine. I will try and post a picture soon.

So, it would appear that the OP is not the only sewing machine aficionado on BF, We've got knives (obviously), firearms, flashlights, cigars, wines, bourbon, watches, SEWING MACINES, plus WHAT??? (please do NOT go to the W&C collections ;)) What a well rounded (or strange) group we have. o_O WOW, I love it around here.:D

My junk room is 1/3 reloading 2/3rds sewing
I have 8 Bicycles too :D Those are a lot more expensive
than my sewing machines . And I really don't have high end bikes

Cool stuff man. I've got skills that would barely pass muster in high school home-ec, but its pretty cool to make custom gear for yourself. My problem is I often get over ambitious and try something that either the machine can't handle, or becomes too complex to complete.

I used to have 2000 breeder snakes. But just sold the whole lot to China.

Snakes require maintenance far beyond an inanimate object. Even though they are just as diverse and beautiful as knives.

Now I am down to just 35 snakes.
