Bteel, one of my patients, also a close friend, also has a problem similar to yours, although he is significantly older. He is in dialysis three times a week for about five hours each session, and the treatments generally leave him drained for the rest of the day (no pun intended
). Anyway, I offer my encouragement for you to keep a positive outlook. You never know what advances may be made in the medical realm. The important issue, for everyone, is to live a full life of giving and receiving, of happiness, and of gratefullness. There are higher powers than science, and while things tend to rarely make sense, there is obvious evidence of a cycle of life that we barely understand. Every living creature, from the basest one celled organism to the most complex, has one unifying factor: the drive to reproduce. Why would we spend the greater part of our lives reproducing (or trying to) and raising progeny if it was all for nothing? It's easy to dole out advice and kind words when I am not on the short end of the stick, but rest assured you have friends here, or at least open ears. Try to live every day to the fullest, let the good ones be great ones and when the bad ones are really bad, take a peek at your little one (still some time to wait!) and realize that you are the luckiest man alive in the world because of him (or her). Peace, stay in good health, and keep your spirits high.
