Here is one of the last village models left in stock. It is 16.5 inches and weighs 1.25 pounds -- sort of the village answer to the WWII model. Steel bolster and buttcap. Fit is not bad for a villager, grind marks are visible entire length of blade but it does not look so bad. Maybe 56 to 57 hardness. Karda and chakma are small and ugly but hard enough to do some work. Scabbard and frog are okay. Butcapp is loose and will need a little work.

Take this one for $50 delivered to your door.

Call or email if interested.

Damn, woulda been perfect for a post hurricane party

All my working khuks are gone, 'cept for the HI Bird and Trout, and I'm loathe to use it for any serious hacking. It'd be great for whittling that wooden 6' Hawaiian Tiki God I want for the backyard BBQ, though

*ha* I post a "poor ol' me" note, go feed the dog, and come back - what do I find? A couple of cool guys fixing me up with a cool working khuk? What can I say but Thank You Ray and Uncle Bill!

Ray, you have mail. The HI Bird and Trout knife is one of the Bowie prototypes, a Paul Bunyan-sized whittler

Thank you gents! A pleasure, as always

CC,
I can't bring any of the pictures up that Bill posted today, so I cam't see the knife in question, but if it's the one that I was checking the hardness on at the Saturday get-together......you got a good blade. I think the handle is just dried out.
Dan

I just changed 'puters (I've got two of 'em, but only one keyboard and one monitor) and now I can see the knife and yep that's the one....good buy

Hello All
Yes,that looked good to me too.Twelve years ago this was what Bill called a Utility model and most times came with a carved wood scabbard.I have two of them with the carved scabbard.
You guys are right on the money, these K's are tough as they come.
