Hi everyone,

This week I received a Mountaineer 2 for my birthday. I love the knife but I find the balance a little odd. What struck me was how heavy the handle is compared to the blade. Much different balance than any other fixed blade I own.

I was curious what people think of this.

Regards,

Stuart

I can't help you with the balance issue. But HAPPY BIRTHDAY! And CONGRATS on the Mountaineer 2.

I had the same issue with my Shadow IV.
But then once I put in a mini Maglight, a thin cotton pad, and some matches, the balance was just fine.

Nevertheless the knife still feels solid with a hollow handle.

That doesn't make sense to me?!?

Stuart mentions that he thinks that the handle is much heavier than the blade!;)

I have a Mk VI and the balance seems just right for me. The balance point on my knife is where your right index finger and thumb would rest on the handle. Granted, I haven't placed anything in the handle at this time so that balance point may shift.

I was amazed on the balance I have with the Shadow III. CRK really did a good job on scaling it down to a great EDC knife.

LOL, I read it wrong. Oh dear, need to be more careful when reading.

However, the lighter handle was my experience and how I felt with mine. strange ....
