One Piece Butt-cap Extension?

I have owned a CRK Mk VI for about 4 yrs. I have used this knife extensively for one task or another and have found that the handle sometimes doesn't allow me to get a good grip on it. I was thinking about the possiblity of an extended butt-cap. I figure that adding an extra 1/2 inch to the butt cap may do the trick. Anybody else think this is a worthy request?
 
I agree with you that I too think it would be a great idea. Use the search feature and go back about a year and you will see that this topic has already been discussed.
 
I love the idea, always open to buy an accessory for my favorite knives :)

But CRK said no way they'd ever make one..

Note for Chris Reeve: the knives will handle those extra forces the extensions will produce.
 
....so I think we should try again. I think a cap that is manufactured with an extra 1/2 inch is very do-able. You will not be adding to any stress on the butt-cap do in part to the fact that it will be a totally solid piece of aluminum and not a 1/2 inch spacer between the handle and the cap. A 1/2 inch is not going to make that big of a difference, if it all. If they won't make one, I may have to do it myself.
 
I think Byrd is the man that makes the staff/extensions that attach to the hollow handle Randalls. Can anyone confirm this? If so he does good clean work.

Floyd IS the one that made the s/s spear extensions. He is also the one that made me an adapter that allowed the spears to fit on my CRK. I verified that Floyd is still in Orlando, Florida. His phone number is 407-298-0967. I hope that this information is useful to you.

Those spears are pretty cool. I didn't know he could make a coupler for a CRK one piece. That's good to know.
