One-piece handle gear

Help... Anyone care to make a detailed list (preferably with sources) of items to include in the handle of a one-piece.

For instance, I'd like to include a small compass, firestarting gear, sharpening steel, etc. Which work (and fit) best?

Without the search function, it's difficult to compile all the great ideas that have been shared in the past.
