Are they all the same size?

I noticed some of them have knurled caps and others don't, but couldn't really tell handle size from web photos.

Howdy!

The handle have different sizes according to the size of the knife. To get exact numbers for the length, go to CRK's website, take the overall size of the knife and subract the lenght of the blade. The difference is the length of the handle

The aluminum screw in end caps are either octagonal (=old type) or knurled (=new type). If you have the old type, you can always replace them with a new one directly from CRK.

The fixed blade knives are divided into five basic sizes and two cap size.

9 inch blade - Shadow I, Jereboam II, Tanto I and Sable I - large cap
7.5 inch blade - Project I and II - large cap
5.5 inch blade - Shadow IV, Mk VI, Mountaineer II, Sable IV - large cap
4.5 inch blade - Skinner (Ubejane)- large cap
4 inch blade - Aviator, Shadow III, Mountaineer I - small cap

All knives made in South Africa were supplied with hexagonal (not octagonal!) caps. We made the change to round caps in 1990/1 for the large caps and a year or so later for the small caps.

By and large, the hex and round caps are interchangeable.
