One plate, two strops: hair whittling sharp

It drives me kinda nutz that this guy can get S110v hair-whittling sharp in about 5 minutes with a fine DMT plate, a 3 micron strop, and a 1 micron strop. Why do I have so much sharpening gear?! 😖

A: because I can't get those results with that minimal equipment.

 
I haven't watched the video yet but my guess is that there was minimal work needed on the edge?

and I agree. why the eff do I own so many things to make stuff sharp?

I've watched his videos for some time now. He is legit as far as I'm concerned.

I'm nowhere close to his skill, but I'm trying.
