 I received a Randall Knife for Christmas this last year. I had a late elk hunt and after bagging and tagging my cow elk, I was excited to be able to use my new Randall. I was most dismayed to have the blade chip. But I called the Randall people to see what could be done. They do not make cheap knives. I got an offer to grind it out. What kind of service is this? Is this standing behind their product?

David,

I own a Randall I purchased 4 or 5 years ago, the blade was very roughly ground and it took a lot of elbow grease to polish most of the nicks out of the blade. There are still some very visible grind marks along one side of the blade that are too deep to get out. I showed it to an older friend of mine who owns a vintage model and I can remember the look of dismay on his face when he told me they just don't make them like they used to.

Wow..sorry David.., that's too bad really. Sadly.., I think Randall advertises way better than they make knives. Not a statement made to anger anyone.., I just believe it's true...
