The colors in the damascus are amazing. How did they do that? It looks like maybe the core of the blade is steel, and the rest is other metals that have been etched/anodized somehow?

I was thinking the the folder itself was precision-made, then I saw the watch link, and it all makes sense. Watchmaking reminds me how far our race has come from bludgeoning things with sticks and bones. :D

The pics of the damascus making process were fun to look at. Very interesting pattern. Though among those pictured set into watch faces, I think I preferred the more "organic' looking patterns.
