One Spot on the Ti/M4 Mili List May Have Opened Up

Well, I canceled my preorder of the Ti/M4 Military today. I paid my $20 nonrefundable deposit way back in March. You see, I started a new business back in January (in a recession). While the business is profitable, it is not where I want it to be just yet, and I did not feel it would be responsible to spend $200 on a knife at this time.

I thought long and hard about buying the knife and flipping it. I am sure I could make a nice little profit on it as this is a highly anticipated sprint run. But, I did not feel that would be right either. I know there are a lot of you that wanted in on this, and I did not want to take advantage of the situation.

I contacted Roger and canceled my order. I just received my confirmation from Ashley. I look forward to doing business with the fine people at Knifeworks in the future when my business is where I want it to be.

In the meantime, I hope that one spot on the waiting list opens up and one of you good people has a nice little bit of good news.

Best wishes to all.

Stand up move.
I got on the list as another member couldn't wait any longer. Mine will definitely be put to use.

I haven't been doing much knife buying lately but no way would I cancel this after waiting for so long! But I understand why you did.

I too placed my deposit way back Jan. 2010?? Roger and Knifeworks pretty much get my business. Great people..but if I'd known then it would be this long I probably would have spent my money elsewhere. I work construction and with the economy the way that it is it's getting harder to justify spending that amount of money on a knife that I want but really don't need. I could be happy buying another knife...Oh wait, I just did...I bought a ZT 302 and I love it!! Come on Sal

I've never heard of having to pay money down on a factory folder... or a custom from a reputable knife maker/dealer. I may miss out on something, but I would never do it.

You would think they would give you your money back, esp after this length of time. Its not like they would have a problem selling it to someone else, and I'm sure they will...won't they:confused:
I hope they feel good about making an extra $20 on any of these knives that are cancelled.

I recall another poster who said that when he cancelled they gave him his $20 in credit toward future purchases.

The email requesting the $20 deposit explicitly stated it was to be non-refundable, so it can't be said they sprung it on us after the fact.

I don't feel even remotely worried about giving a little 'placeholder' money to a company I've had repeated good experiences with in the past, especially since it's such a small amount.

Good luck with the business Wayne. I sincerely hope that it is successful for you. Keep on trucking along, things will pick up!

Since they were up front at the time of the deposit that it was "nonrefundable" everyone who put down a deposit was an adult and did so of their own free will.

Everyone has had nearly a year to save up $200. If you didn't or now feel you can no longer afford it why not just get the knife when it comes in and sell it? It's on a credit card and you could most likely have it sold and the money in had before you got your CC bill. If someone wants to sell it for what they have in it that's up to them. If they want to try and make a profit, that's up to them as well, it's their property.

No firm date was given for the product, everyone knew the rules going in and we're all adults so I don't see where anyone is at fault or getting taken. I mean we are after all talking about a product that none of us "NEEDS". Just my $.02

Guys, before this gets sidetracked, the $20 was non-refundable. I knew that when I paid it. I am a responsible adult. In the grand scheme of things $20 is not much. I am sure I will find enough pennies and quarters on the side of the road in life to even it out. I probably already have.

This was my decision. If you want to judge anyone, judge me.

Wayne, I sure hope your new buisness will do good. I wish you the best:thumbup:

I'm sorry I gave my viewpoint in my above post. I got off topic, and should not have. Very sorry to do that in your thread Wayne.

Earlier in the year, I got someone else's place for similar reasons. He talked to Roger and Roger was good enough to "transfer" the place to me. The original person got his $ back and I paid $20 to take his place. Roger did not "double dip" even though it was his right.

The knives should be here next week!!!
I called KW to update my CC info and the nice lady said next week!!!

No worries. Just wanted to stay on topic.

Best of luck with the business Wayne.

Next week is sounding REAL GOOD to me ~;-)

I can't even get on the list! 700 people? at least that is what they said from Louisiana.

Wayne, admirable move, when you could have profited. Hope things get better for you.
