We put the house from Deb's Mom's estate on the market Tuesday afternoon. We got a call from the realtor last night. We have an offer at the full asking price and all they want done is steam clean the carpets :).
I had visions of painting and fence repair in my nightmares. After the house is sold the estate will be settled. We are planning to stay here in Va till the end of my contract at work in May of 2006.

Then we are outta here. :D . Washington , Idaho , Montana or somewhere out West here we come. I hope I can stand to stay here on the job for another year. Once you see the light at the end of the tunnel, it's hard to stay focused.

I'm so happy I can hardly stand it. What great news after the worries we've been through lately

I'll be a fulltime maker within two years. :p whoo hoo !!!

Good to hear the news!!! Now to decide where to live . . . . . . .

move to the ozarks :D

I'd stay away from Idaho and Montana, because if the Yellowstone caldera blows.... you'd be up a creek without a proverbial paddle :)

Congratulations, but don't wait too long. Sometimes it's better to cut and run while the gett'ins good.

If the caldera blows, the globe is going to be in a world of hurt :(

Maybe somewhere near the equator would be about the only place you wouldnt freeze to death.

I think I'd rather be close enough to at least get to see it go boom and get it overwith.:)

Good for you Old Man! Dont stay gone too long! Come back south sometime brotha'

Mark

we had to put off our Navy reunion this year but will have it with-in the next year
so I'll still get to get out there and see you too.
before you leave. :) . see how things happen for the good :D

man the torture you'll go through now waiting :(
but the count down has started for you right? :D

Congrates you lucky bastid. ;) The waiting will be intense. Great news.
Scott

Yeah, but you know what, Scott? Now that he knows he has a finite time window, he'll be so very prepared for it! Heck, I can see Mark hoarding supplies as we speak! :D

As fast as a year goes by, It will probably sneak up on us before we know it.

We've got a lot to get done prior to getting outta here. I dread the thoughts of packing up 7 years worth of junk.

Planning a trip out West in October to look at a prospective home town. From all we've read it looks great.

If all goes well. We hope to be moving next June right after the blade show of 2006 :)

We plan to rent a place while we build. Have plans for a modest house and a big honkin shop that will hopefully be 3 times the size of the house :)

Just have to keep getting healthier. I've started on a diet and have been riding a bike in the evening.

It's going to be GREAT.

The Yellowstone Caldera isn't in much danger of a major eruption at this time. The Caldera most likely to erupt in North America in the forseeable future is Long Valley in California. Bishop, Mono Lake, Lone Pine areas are in and around it. It was the source of the largest single ash flow in the history of North America, the Bishop Tuff blew out around 1000 cubic Km in its original eruption. The magma chamber is currently active, with the ground near Bishop having come up over a half meter between the late 80s and the late 90s.

Good news Mark, looks like things are going your way so play your cards well and don't take no wodden nickels. Gib

Ray Rogers lives in up in the sticks in NoWhere Land, Washington. He seems to love it, but he is a little "squirrely" ya know...

Hope things work for you.

Robert

Mark,

Congratulations. Oregon is a nice state and could always use another knife maker.

I just had a thought, Master Williams...

Maybe you should take them newly-acquired funds and make that "Knifemakers Commune" we been talking about?

Aint there some tropical island you could buy?
