Whats that? 'Whats up with that Potbelly', you say? Well, since you asked, I'll tell you! I got the Tommythewho scales in today, and as Tony the Tiger says, "They're GRRRRREAT!"

This knife is a masterpiece now. It feels NOTHING like how it did coming out of the box. These handles totally change the feel of the knife. They are WAY more comfortable, lighter, better looking. This feels like it will make the knife 1000X more comfortable for outdoor work. He should REAAALLY start doing these on the regular. I'd bet any amount of money they'll sell easy!

Whats that? 'Do I have more pictures?' Sure Do!

Here's the sheath...heavily modded and streamlined. Setup for (sort of) Baldric carry.

I'm seriously thinking about getting some Tommy scales for one of my Beckers now.

Very nice. I did the same streamline mod to my ZK sheath. Had no reason to carry a can of mountain dew around with me all the time lol. Handles look great. I'd like to get micarta myself for my warsword, as wood scales just ain't "Zombie" enough for me lol. Looks great though.

Those scales are really nice. So how do you like the Potbelly?? I've been eyeing one since they came out but have yet to convince myself to take the plunge. Is it as good of chopper as looks like it should be?

Tanner - You've successfully converted me from a hater to a fan. I never liked the PB, but with the blade mods and those killer new scales, that is one sexy work beast. Oh yeah, your 7 is looking sweet too!

I'm going to Tomar's...

Ahh..

A P-Belly that's been Clinched and T-who'd

Who'd a thunk it?

Gonna do the same thing to a Pestilence Chopper. Except I will do the Cliching and Saintscutlery is going to do micarta. Trying to get him to join BF with a craftsman membership so we can be on the level.

This knife isnt finished. In about a month I'll go to Skystorm next. Hopefully he buys one by then.

We need a video of that thing in action. Tommy did a great job. How does it fit in the sheath

I haven't done anything to tighten the sheath. It's about what you'd expect from a Kabar sheath, But it doesn't really rattle so I left it alone. I also can't nail down the exact location of the anchor stiches, and I don't want to mess the sheath up. On the Becker sheaths, I know exactly where they are.

As a chopper, it is the Apex Predator of Kabar, especially this one (I named it Woody Wood-Wrecker). 1/4" thick, deep hollow grind, Clich-Convexed, and super comfy Tommy handles. (I still need to get the stuff to maintain the convex). Will be some action shots taken this weekend. I look forward to getting a BK4 for a real chop-off.

See Clich clich. See Clich Chop.

That Potbelly looks so much better with those scales! Would you recommend the potbelly as an alternative to the BK7?

Dude are you kidding me. That is unreal, now I have to get one of those too!!!! This place is hard on the wallet. Great looking blade man.

When I posted earlier I was just looking at the pics from my Iphone. Now that I can see them on a proper screen I'm blown away. I'm gonna be adding a Potbelly to my next Tomar's trip I think...IF I can get a set of those Tommies for it.

Ummm...Not really. Two different beasts. The PB will do everything the BK7 will do, but the feel is totally different. The BK7 IS, after all, a combat knife. Just a WAY more useful combat knife. The PB is for making big pieces of wood into little pieces of wood. I like it because it it unique. That is noteworthy because not much outside of Beckerdom gets much attention from me. But there really is no other knife like it that I have seen. How many GOOD 1/4" thick knives are there?

Oh Mr, Skyyyy-Storrrrrm!!! When are you going to get yours? I don't want this the leave me again!

Oh man...some custom leather will turn that setup into a jealousy-inducing package for sure! I'd love to see what kind of pattern he can come up with!
