About a year ago, I had a single bypass surgery (CABG). My symptoms came on quickly, I had no history, my blood work was all good and everything. I had the surgery and have recovered.

Just went to my doctor for a checkup, and things are looking good. I could stand to exercise more, and have to start Niacin for my HDL, but all in all, I'm in a better place than I was in 2009. I'm glad I am alive for my wife and son. I'm 43, BTW.

My doctor visit got me thinking about the many members I have read about on BF that had health issues recently and over the past year or two. It would be nice to hear from you, let us know what was going on, and how you are doing today.

A few I can think of are Fudo, CampbellClanMan, and Mike G. I am sure there are many others.

If you have a chance, let us know how it's going.

Glenn

I am happy to be here today

Glennbad My CABG on June 1st last year. I'm not ready to run the marathon, but I'm certainly better off now than I was then. It's certainly not something I'd like to do twice.

I am glad to hear you are doing okay. It's certainly a life changing event, and forces you to evaluate your choices.

Thanks for checking in.

Glenn

After having my Aortic valve replaced with an artificial one made of plastic and stainless steel in January of 2009, I am happy to report that I am doing absolutely fantastic!

I just turned 48 years old, and feel great!

Still kicking up my heels after triple bypass in 2006. Haven't been back to the cardiologist is a few years, but I feel fine. Changed my diet, started getting more excercise and taking a handful of pills every day. And I'm 50 (ish :D).

Glad you are here today as well. I have not had any major events in my life. However, I just hit 45. I quit drinking and smoking at 40. I still eat alot of garbage. I am on a vitamin regimen, and this allows more energy, and clearer thinking, even better looking toe nails. I am trying to prioritize a healthier me. I enjoy my life now more than ever before. In hindsight, I really tried to corrupt myself with as much garbage as I could in the past. To all with health issues, prayers sent for healing.

We always read how someone is having an issue, but don't really hear any followup.

Thanks for checking in to let us know how you're doing. Glad to hear things are going well with all of you.

Chris, I was kinda like you. I ate whatever I wanted and never gave much thought to the sodium and fat I was ingesting. I now look at it a lot more closely. Good on you for making some changes before problems start.

Glenn

Glad to hear you guys are doing better (in fact much better).

Still dealing with this darn achilles healing after the surgery, but at least the healing and therapy is going well. I have been walking without much pain for the last three weeks and have learned a lot by going through this.

I'm sure glad you guys doing better. Thank you for sharing your stories.
I'm 46 and have let myself get very out of shape and being on the road I have a really hard time eating well.
Thanks to your stories I'm going to do all I can to get myself in better shape and stave off the heart problems I can.
Life's too long to live with health problems.
