Just a few of the knives showing the progress I have made over the past year since I joined BF.

First, a Titanium mushroom knife, the first KSO I made last spring

And a 304SS hunter I made for my son about the same time

And at six months, I completed a dagger for the KITH challenge. I think I finished in the top three with it(there were only two others)

And, one year to the day after joining BF:
Steel: CPM-S30V
Blade Length: 5" OAL 10"
Top Handle: Pau Rosa w/ red & black liners
Bottom Handle: Bocote w/ black & red liners
800 grit belt finish on the Pau Rosa
Media blasted finish on the bottom
CA finish on both woods
Top of the blade on the Pau Rosa is rounded. I really need a slower grinder to do this better, but I kinda like it.

These aren't the only knives I've made, but I think they best demonstrate my progress.

Your dagger looks nice and symmetrical. How difficult was this to do?

Do you reuse old commercial blades? It looks like the last one has the name of a knife company on the ricasso.

What's next?

Hi Paul,

The mark on the last knife is Zaph's makers mark. Check out the link in his signature block it takes you off to his site.

Thanks, Patrice. I think my next step is learning how to take better pictures. Try as I might, I can't get a picture that looks nearly as good as the knife does.

i have seen seen the first 2 knives and the folder. zaph1 says he makes some ugly knives but i think they have character. he has come a long way for sure. it looks like he has improved considerably :D

i need to send him some more 1075 to play with since his dagger turned out good.
