Intended to post this yesterday (Wednesday) but was out of town so i'll get the giveaway started today.

Thanks to everyone who has participated in the Wooden Wednesday thread, never expected it would carry on as long as it has. I have really enjoyed the posts and seeing all the various wood handled knives.

This give away will be open to anyone who has made at least one post in the traditional subforum prior to today.
A simple "I'm in" will suffice but pictures of traditional knives with wooden handles is encouraged, or if you've got an interesting piece of wood stashed away for a future project pictures of that would be good too.

Your post number is your entry, winner will be chosen by random number generator on the one year mark of the Wooden Wednesday thread which will be on Wednesday November 20th.

Winner will receive this Queen Jack knife with bird's eye maple covers.

I'm in... but with a story.

A few years ago after college I was using a junk sale antique dresser. The back left leg was broken off, but I shoved a few random bits under it and faced that corner to the wall.

When the rest of my furniture matured my wife demanded I get rid of the old 'junk' dresser.

I couldn't bring myself to just trash it, on the back was a tag for some hotel in Indiana and it was marked mahogany. So before we moved, I took a hammer to it and removed all the mahogany bits. The Top, the drawer fronts, the molded corners... all mahogany.

So I still have about 30lbs of antique Mahogany just waiting for a project in my garage. If I had access to a plainer I prob would have made boxes with it by now, but for now the planks are just in my garage waiting... and waiting.

Not an entry, but I wanted to stop by and say "thank you" for hosting a generous giveaway!

Wood on wood: ;)

Queen being a favorite of mine, I can't resist entering, thanks for the chance! :-)
Here is a Queen that hopefully gives me the luck of winning another :-)

I posted this in another competition, but I'm recycling it. This little #55 is among my favorite knives.

And I'm in.

What a very generous giveaway sir :) Please count me in.

This is my ebony Clip-point Charlow on an old cotton-mill shuttle, which I thought appropriate for a Barlow. I've got a couple put aside in case Charlie decides to do a Weaver Jack! :D

i'm in ,thanks for the chance
