Hello Porch,
Just wanted to share my collection after one year. I joined BF after seeing a few GEC knives in person. That was one year ago today and I've bought more than some and less than others.

The 14 was my first and it gets a lot of pocket time. BSK just because and the Bullnoses mostly for sentimental reasons (Grandfather's Sodbusters) and they get hard use at home

Here it's apparent I must apologize for picture quality. I can't get a good shot outside because Nate is gifting us with wind and rain at the moment. There are some truly gifted photographers on the porch, just not myself. 48s didn't get carried much but I still admire them. The 66 was an eye opener and I love it. Carry the factory 2nd Ironwood everyday and the ebony stays tucked inside the tube. The 35 will join the 66 in a tube slumber. Have a stag coming when they're finished.

Some Barlows. I don't have the time or patience to chase the TC Barlows. I admire the threads on them and will check secondary prices just because it's fascinating. The TC Bladeforum is a user and rides along my 66 most days. I bought the 25s due to hype, embarrassing perhaps, but they have grown on me and may keep the Ironwood and Pioneer Bone.

Thanks for Looking!

Nice collection! Don't feel embarrasses about the hype piece. They're good knives either way, and the buying/selling/collecting is kinda founded on the hype.

Keep "watering", and the "garden" will grow ;)

That's a good looking collection! You've picked up a nice variety of GEC offerings.

Nice collection! Nothing to be embarrassed about regarding the hype pieces. I'm sure at some point every one of us pulled the trigger on a knife we may not have bought if it weren't for everyone else's chattering.

It took me a couple of years at least to figure out what I truly liked vs what everyone else liked. The good thing is if you don't use the ones you're not sure about...you can usually get most of your money back.

Thanks again :) Forgot to add the 35 calf pen (nifebrite) in a photo. The question being was that on purpose or not :D

You have a very understanding wife.

And some very nice knives that you have picked up in the last year.

Better hang on to all of them.

Those do look excellent. It's cool to look at the knives a person buys; the styles, colors and textures of the handles. The amber-brown-black is your thing. I laughed when you said your forgot the nifebrite 35. or did you? That knife would be so out of character for you based upon the others you have. I think my fav two are the new 2017 BF knife and the 25 in the micarta. Well, you have a great looking group. Thanks for showing them.

This is so true. Everyone will have favorites for different reasons, and as a community we usually lean on each other for opinions.

But it’s different strokes for different folks, someone’s favorite pattern is someone else’s head scratcher, and it takes a while to distill the market down to what you really like.

Nice collection, you're off to great start!

Great collection- whew ..... that's pretty good for a year! Great choice of frames - I've been watching those 66 ironwoods for a while - one day I pick one up.

Thanks again  It's been fun unlocking the GEC code of patterns and materials. Many of you have some collections that are very cohesive in terms of patterns and/or covers. This subforum is one of the most accessible I've experienced to date for an interest as niche as traditional slipjoints in our modern age.
