Hi all from France ! I've discovered this forum a couple of weeks ago, I
found it great to be able to be in touch with the designer of some of
my blades (Hi CLB !!).

I'm the proud owner of a Wharcom and a black Subcom, they've replaced
my previous EDC (Emerson Commander, my first "serious" knife, unbreakable
but quite bulky, and not very "politically" correct in my day job : I work as
a systems/network engineer and large blades are not that common )

The Wharcom is a fantastic little tool, but I'm not very successful
at sharpening it, any hints ?

I've ordered a Subclaw today, and the plain Subcom I also wanted (black
handle, plain blade) was out of stock :-( No fear, I've ordered a black
Hyper

Welcome to the Boker/CLB madness.

You will definately like the Hyper.

For sharpening i would recommand the Spyderco 204 set.
It comes with a DVD to explain the system.

Yeah those subcoms come in all kind of variations. Great for Urban EDC.

congrats sebg these CLB "Biscuits" can be habit forming
sharpening tip: coat the edge with magic marker (like black) so you can get instant feedback if you're actually working the edge

Thanks, my usual online shop seems to sell it, but quite pricey (70€ instead of ~40$ as found on many online retailers )

I've tried the magic marker tip yesterday, it's a great idea but my Wharcom still resists sharpening, I'm unable to get it as sharp as my Subcom

parcel shipped today !!

First impressions :

• The Subclaw is really gorgeous, razor sharp, good blade length (3-4 mm longer than my Wharcom)
• Hyper. Waow. Seems to be made for my hand. Smooth action. Perfect blade locking.

Next : convert the Hyper to tip-down without destroying the screws

EDC will now be for me :

• One "Subcom" (Subcom, Wharcom, Subclaw)
• One Hyper (combo edge for now, plain edge coming, I think )
