This is one of those 25th anniversary folders done back in 99 by Kershaw. From what I understand Ken and Tom actually did some of the finish work on some of these though I dont know if they actually worked on this one. These knives are very close in finish quality to Kens early custom Speedsafe folders, the handle fit and finish is out of this world for a production folder, the blade is more in line with a normal Kershaw production knife finish. These knives normally have a kind of gaudy etched gold and black marking on the blade with the 25TH anniversary logo stuff.I actually ground this off the blade on one side so it looks more like a EDC knife. Its not perfect but still very nice and the Speedsafe action is great. If you like Onion customs but dont want to carry a knife worth a few $k and the standard Kershaw's just dont do it for ya this is the knife to have. These originally retailed for around $600 and there kind of tough to find today for sale at all. Iam pricing this one at $350 shipped. Check out the pics below and let me know if your interested. NO trades please.
Thanks!
Matt

Nice but where are:

-the Logo engraved/marked blade (the originals had gold scroll and 25th Anniver....etc)
and
-the number X/500 (there were only 500 made).

Looks like this one was not actually issued by Kershaw.

Whats the story,

Hattie

Sorry - red face - didn't check out that you ground them out. Bad move I think, the numbered version with original logo would have been worth more I am sure.

Hey, thanks a lot for your post Hattie. We all couldn't have lived without your expert opinion.

If you have an opinion, DON'T post it in the "for sale" forums. It is his sale, not yours.

Thanks Architect! He's right Hattie, really in poor taste especially since you didnt even take the time to read the post completely. Your first reply slams my knife, brings question to its authenticity and you didnt even read what I did to it. Then you just continue to slam it in the second post with your personal opinion of what I did to my own knife? Please keep your opinion's in your own for sale posting's or the correct forums for this kind of opinion.I made a post about my changes to this knife in the Ken Onion forum, your welcome to go there and post your thoughts about my changes.

My opinion on this knife is it was great knife from Kershaw, one of the best made Speedsafe knives ever but was priced very high when they came out hence poor sales. They never actually made all 500 knives. Most people do not like the blade markings these came with even though it was pretty nice looking. I think people that bought them were too worried about marking up the blade engraving, at least I was, if carried and used. These are collectible but I didnt buy it to collect it. In my opinion I just dont think these will ever be super hot collectibles. When you can find them for sale they currently sell in the $300-$400 range. I think this is about right for the quality of construction and great Onion design especially with the Ti liners and bolsters.I dont think its priced like this because of the 25th ann markings so I didnt have a problem removing them. Just my opinion. If nobody wants to buy it I will keep it, still a great knife.
Thanks
Matt
