I recently acquired a new CRKT Eros knife and am enjoying it thoroughly. The specs indicate that the blade is 3". If I measure using the AKTI standard (tip to most forward part of handle) it is about 1/8" short. I doubt a knife of this build quality would have that problem so perhaps I'm not measuring correctly. Does anyone know how CRKT measures their blades - is it different than what AKTI considers? Thanks for any input.

Have you asked CRKT how they measure the blade length?
- since they produced specs.

Please take a look at:

Posts #23 and #39 in Review - CRKT Ken Onion Eros
where the photos have been scaled to display life-size on my PC monitor at 96dpi - hopefully they will do so on other PC monitors (Macs are supposed to be 72dpi, so probably show at 133% life-size)
there is a ruler in inches anyway in all my pics, so one can actually measure the knives.....

I'll paste one of them here:

Does your Eros look proportionally the same?
an 1/8 inch shorter ought to be pretty obvious.

A lot of people measure the length along the sharpened edge -
doing it that way mine measures just about 3 inches.

Thanks so much for the reply. Mine appears to have the same proportions as shown in your photo. I called CRKT last week and asked how they measure but they have not replied as of yet. My guess is that they go by edge length while others apparently use the AKTI method - hence slight differences. I had been comparing it to a Kershaw Leek, also indicated at 3" and the Eros was indeed shorter by about 1/8". However using different measuring methods would account for this. Whew! I was worried that I got shorted (pun intended).
