Howdy,

I'm looking for Camillus collectors who would like to share photos of their Boy Scout knives, ads, and other info on Camillus Scout knives.

I've set up a non-commercial (no ad support, no fees of any sort) website to try and build a complete online collection of Boy Scout knives as a service to the Scout and knife collecting communities. Since I own the server, I have no hosting fees to recover.

Yes, I realize it's a big task. Since I have fewer Boy Scout knives than many other collectors, I'm asking others to participate if they wish.

All contributions will be credited to the contributor, unless they wish to be anonymous.

This has started as a slow process, with Camillus being the first manufacturer I've really worked on. Any good, clear photos, comments or constructive criticism, and history info would be very, very appreciated.

The www.ScoutKnives.Net website does already link back to BladeForums.Com. We're looking to focus on only this one, small niche of the knife world.

Thanks, y'all, and Merry Christmas.

Your missing Western Cutlery fixed blades

Here is one that I was told may be from Cardinal Cutlery===>

Here is my Bridgeport
She's not pretty though :)

Looks like a cool project

Here is an ad from Boys Life magazine
It had Roger Staubach on the cover so it must have been late 70's
It kinda looks like the left tang stamp says Ulster?

I believe if you have done much research, you may have come across the name of Ed Holbrook, from Oregon. He is regarded as one of the leading authorities on official Scout Knives.

I have seen some pictures of Ed's collection, from pictures at the Oregon Knive Show, and it is a great collection. I would imagine his book to be the best resource on official scout knives.

This website has a nice piece about Scout knives.

I've got a copy of Mr. Holbrook's book, and he certainly has quite a collection. I'm hoping that color photos of the knives will be easier for seeing detail than the black and white images. He also has an easy, simple designation system, but it results in more than different knives having the same designation, such as the U1 being used for both Ulster and Utica knives.

The ScoutKnives.Net site recommends Mr. Holbrook's book as an excellent reference, as well as Mr. Kerr's book.

Allen,
The BSA literature will be mailed to you next week. I am including information on Camillus and Imperial/Schrade BSA knives.

The site is looking good:thumbup:

Thanks for the Trent Rock photo credit

I'm gonna do a time lapse experiment on the ax handle "refurbish"
I'll try and put the pics together as a video.....

The site has had many additions today. GSA knives, more BSA knives, and some unofficial scout knives. Many of these are courtesy of Philco and Cutlersedge (Phil and Dmitri).
