Anyone here ever play any online character games? (This may not be the correct term - please forgive my ignorance on this topic.) Several of my offspring have really gotten into a game called "Runescape," in which a player can enter a number of different "worlds," encounter and interact with other players or characters, obtain/buy/trade/sell a number of different items, weapons, powers, etc. (I have yet to determine if a khukuri is one of the available weapon choices in this particular game.)

In my random perusing of the internet, I did come across a kukri -wielding character in what appears to be a game of a similar nature:

"Devastating Kukri Master"

Yup...UD it is.

2 Living characters and 2 Zombies. Starting to get the skills all over by now.

I've been running a safehouse the last couple of weeeks...have several tenants that will do little favors in return for my protection. Kind of fun setting up a fifedom and collectings vassles.

Ted,

I posted the link incorrectly - sorry for the inconvenience.

Try a google search on the term "devastating kukri master."

I looked at the Urbandead website - looks interesting.

I believe the technical term is MMORPG, but for brevity, I call them online RPGs....

I got UO when it came out, went to Everquest, but didn't like EQ so I quit after the month, then I went to AO, which is probably my favorite of the bunch. I enjoy them, but they're such time leeches....I haven't played in a couple years.

Thanks for the info, AM. I had no idea so many people were into these games. As usual, the younger folks are way ahead of me. :)

They're a surprisingly big industry, due to the reoccuring theme of monthly fees....a lot of people said (I don't know if there was a foundation to the claim) that UO, before the other major MMORPGs came out, was the highest grossing game ever.

They're probably salvaging the losing computer market, despite far superior products overall. Personally, I got out of games entirely when I went to college the first time....except for my Nintendo DS!
