stupid search function is useless to me. Anyone know of good online gun stores? I'm trying to find a specific pistol (Kahr TP9 w/Novak night sights) and doing a Google search does not produce nearly as many hits as I would expect. Any help appreciated!

impactguns.com

I bought a pistol a year or two ago from these guys and it was at my FFL two days later. Apparently they have to ship handguns super fast by law. (not exactly sure how that works) Price shop, but at the time the pistol I bought was $50 cheaper than the sporting goods store here in town.

Thanks for the tips. I never even knew about Gunbroker.com! Although I just registered and asked a seller a question about the condition of one of the guns (used) and he flipped out - maybe a little too much meth, I hope not all the dealers there are like that!!!

I've bought over 25 guns on gunbroker. Never had a problem at all.

I remember seeing something on the news a couple years back about that. Seems there were a lot of guns being stolen at some UPS hubs, either stolen by UPS employees, or being redirected to different addresses. One of the ways they went about trying to fix this this was to require that all handguns be shipped via next day or 2 day air service, less time in the system and fewer people handling them (FWIW I do work for UPS, but ours wasn't one of the hubs that had issues)

Gunbroker .com is a good resource, however a few cautions should be followed.

1. Always check feedback.
2. If they will not accept returns I would pass.
3. Same for inspection periods, no inspection period especially on anything used and I would pass.
4. Location, I would never send money to anyone without a physical address and without a working phone. In other words no PO Boxes.

Gunbroker .com is like any other online auction house. They cannot vouch for those who sell on their website, they only provide a place for the auctions to be held. I have always asked for a copy of the FFL to be faxed to me prior to making payment, this has always been honored by those I have dealt with and I always offer mine in return.

cool I got a deal on a refurbished Kahr off gunbroker from a guy with very good feedback, fingers crossed!!

Gunbroker is great as long as you can find a decent seller. I bought my 870 Police used on GB. It was supposed to come with a surefire forend, but without the light (they lost it,) Well apparently, they found it, because the shotgun that I paid $280 for arrived at my dealer with a $100 light attached.

Great deals can be had on GB:thumbup:

No, it's not a law, it's simply UPS policy brought about by their inability to clean their own house and to gouge gun folks out of more money.

Having a large garage sale & am disposing of some handguns . Son advised me to get "end user" records signed by purchaser because this gets rid of my 'footprints' & states I no longer own or am responsible for the weapon . Ever do or hear of this ?

Uncle Alan  :D

Uncle Alan, Yes I have heard of it and would not have it any other way. Suppose you sell it to some yahoo and three years later it is confiscated at a crime. scene. ATF will track it back to you. I would get the person's name, address and drivers license number. My doing this you will save yourself a possible headache in the future. Besides if he hedged or got nervous about giving you the information, then I would think twice before letting it go with some unknown.

I would also hate to be the person who sold a handgun to a felon. When I closed the gun shop I didn't stop selling guns although it was just a handful a year, more trading than selling. I would not sell a long arm without seeing both a driver's license and a CCW. I always run a handgun through a dealer. I would keep records of both and have the buyer sign the receipt stating he was allowed to own a firearm by law. You probably have less to worry about with the feds than you do with being sued by the family of the victim if a firearm you sell is used in a crime.
