Just wondering if anyone out there has any info about online knife shops. I'm thinking to buy an Emerson Police Utility Knife from 1 Stop Knife Source (www.1sks.com). I have seen cheap a$$ counterfeit knives for sale at local gun shows and am kinda worried about buying from someone other than the maker. If anyone has dealt with 1sks.com (good or bad) I'd sure appreciate hearing from you.

Thanks in advance

Boy did you come to the right place for this one!!!!!!!

1SKS is the whole reason that this forum is available for us to use. Buying from them is a good thing.

Rest assured you will have no problems. I have ordered several items from 1SKS and I have been satisfied with their service each & everytime. Plus if for some strange reason something did go wrong with your order 1SKS has a forum so that you can contact them for any needed corrections. The owner, Spark, frequents that forum on a regular basis. He is a good guy and will do everything that he can to help you with any special requests or needs that you may have.

If you'd like, you can perform a search over at the Good, Bad, & Ugly forum for some additional comments.

Also, you can access 1SKS from the STORE button located at the top of every page.

I hope this helps and welcome to Bladeforums.

I'm not aware of any on-line dealers that are selling counterfeits. I think it would be more likely to find such things at gun shows. There could be some but it would be very bad for business.

I sometimes get questions about seconds. I can tell you that seconds simply aren't available through dealers because they aren't made available to dealers by the manufacturers.

No need to worry. 1SKS sells the real deal.

1SKS is the "real deal". You will have no problems and will get prompt, efficient service.

I have had 5 or 6 transactions with 1sks over the last nine months. All have been flawless with the exception of an out-of-stock-item.
I would say-make sure they have it in stock before ordering.

Welcome to the forums!
You can find out about forumites' experiences with dealers on the Good, Bad, and Ugly forum.
It's under the "exchange" heading, and at the bottom of the page. You can search for dealers or individuals names by using the search function (search is under "post reply" if you look up^).

Guys, THANKS A MILLION for the replies! I've only been on the forums for about a week now, but I've gained more knowledge than I thought possible. Seems like everyone here is a true knife nut (YAHOOOOO!), and more importantly, cares enough to help the newbies like myself. Again, Thanks.

Customer service is my #1 concern these days; and I appreciate all feedback (good or bad) that we get these days.

I'm not going to say we're perfect - we're human. The Wall Street Journal summed got it right when they called us "laid back, but helpful".

As for counterfeit knives, I've heard that a few times as well. Rest assured, we do not sell factory seconds, bait and switch, or anything else untoward. I'd rather tell a customer the ugly truth, than blow smoke and push a sale.

As for Fred, his crew at Knife Outlet make his store stand out in the top 5% - they are true professionals. They are an example of "doing it right" - so if we can't make you happy, feel free to go to them, you will get good service.

CTI, Inc. is the exclusive Value Added Reseller (VAR) and marketing representative to the Federal government for Infor-Med, Inc.’s electronic medical record software called Praxis EMR. Effective immediately, CTI, Inc. now has approval from the General Services Administration to place Praxis EMR on CTI, Inc. GSA IT Schedule.

Huh?

You could not go wrong buying from any of the online knife dealers that are represented here on BFC. You can check the GB and U in the Exchange and do a search for the online knife store that you are looking for.

As far as buying from a manufacturer you need to keep in mind that there are very few manufacturers that actualy sale direct to the public. For instance Al-Mar sales knives online through a storefront set up by shootersstore.com.

Make sure the people you are buying from are reputable and that they protect and secure your information. Also make sure that they have customer service options for you incase there is a problem.

Ahh, the General Services Administration ... I used to work for them, aamof. They basically supply, well, *stuff* to different branches of the federal gov't. The FBI needs cellphones for 2 dozen agents? One of the GSA's divisions (FTS -- Federal Technology Service) finds the best vendor and fills the need. Dubya needs office space for his transition team into the White House? Another of GSA's divisions (PBS -- NOT Public Broadcasting System) owns the office space, and supplies it.

The GSA schedule is, basically, a list of approved goods & services (incl. vendors) that the GSA can provide to federal agencies.

Does this help??
