Only 300 Super Commanders?

First, let me get the numbers straight. Per the TAD site, there will be 100 true satin SCs with black handles, 50 HC SCs with green handles, and 150 BT/BTS SCs with black handles. This adds up to 300 Super Commanders.

I know it's been a while since this question has been asked, so I'm going to ask it again. Will ther be any more production Super Commanders manufactured?

If there will only be 300 Super Commanders, would it be wise to put my true satin SC away? It won't kill me. I have a Mini Commander and I'm planning to get a 2002 Commander anyway...
 
I'd say put it away but that would KILL ME TO DO!

There appears to be many very limited editon Commanders, and other EKI knives coming out. The super commanders seem to be getting rare, especially the green G-10 handle ones as EKI is not going to be making any more with Green G-10 handles on any of the models!

The problem with putting a Super Commander away, with me, is would just jump right back in my pocket!

I'd say just go ahead and use your True Satin and enjoy it. You can always send it to EKI for refurbishing. If you want to keep it as truly mint as possible - for resale, or just for your own reasons - then put it away and use your Mini and the 2002 you're planning on getting.

Where are you going to get your 2002, btw?
 
I just rec'd a year end bonus, which paid for my SC and Mini Commander. I'm expecting a quarterly bonus to be included in my next check, on the 29th. I'm hoping to order a 2002 Commander then.

Believe it or not, when I told my wife about the first bonus, she told me TWICE that I needed to buy myself something. This was right after I bought my SC and Mini Commander! What a wife!
 
Whoops. I must be blind. Al, you wrote, "Where are you going to get your 2002, btw?" I thought you asked WHEN I was going to get my 2002.

I really hadn't thought about WHERE I might find a 2002 Commander. I still haven't found anybody that has any. TAD said they would by a certain date, then said it would be a week or so later. TAD might have some by the end of the month. Do you have any suggestions?

I know that BladeArt had a bunch a while back. You might try giving Ida a call. What they don't have on hand, they can usually get pretty fast. Larry's connections seem endless.
 
Decision made. I should have a 2002 Commander (black non-serrated blade) before Christmas. My satin finish non-serrated Super Commander is now retired.

Besides being 1 of 75 made, it's just too freaking pretty!
