I was cruiseing threw my local public library when what should I trip across in the Martial Arts section "Knife Fighting Encyclopedia" by Hock Hochheim. Then I go to the how-to section and find a book called Knifecraft by Sid Latham that has a how-to by Bill Moran on making a fighter like his as well as many other knife makers giving instructions on making diffrent types of knives. If your looking for training info you might not have to look further than your local library.

Wish my local small town library had that kind of selection...
a 30 year old copy of Condfederate Edged Weapons, and a pretty basic book called Karate The Art of Empty Hand Fighting is it. :p
My mother volunteer's there, so I'm there a lot, and have time to look manually, or have access to the staff database to look using the computer.
Sometimes I wonder if they'd even allow better/more serious books to be on their shelves... Got in a bunch of books on Wicca and other "pagan" fatish, and the next time one of the "anti-pagan" volunteers had their day, all the books dissapeared... and I have wonder if some of the anti-self defense volunteers wouldnt do similar with say a copy of KoKG or Battle Blades :barf:

I've been thinking about getting second copies of my COmbatives SD and CQC books, and donating them... I think it'd do that library a lot of good, and would be popular.

Altho... What are the moral implications of donating things like Kill or Get Killed or similar works, to the library? And with that kinda stuff available to every punk who steps into a library... kinda worries me a little... but I, personally, dont think its reason enough NOT to donate such materials to the library.

I think donating them would be a great idea. If some punk picks up the book they are not likely going to put the time into training that it takes. If they did, they could pick up that sort of info lots of places. However if someone who really wants to learn but has a situation that makes it hard for him or her, maybe that book ends up saving their life.

That library would not be in Cut And Shoot, Texas would it? No joke for those of you not from TX that is a real town name.

Nope the main library in San Antonio. I've found all kinds of stuff from Palidin, Delta Press, and Loompanics. We've got a TON of books on knifemaking. The cool part is when you go up to check them out they dont even blink an eye..... ah Texas where your home's your castle and you can use the cannons to protect it.

AMEN! I travle too much for my liking, it is hard to function in states where you are not allowed the freedoms of self defence, to the extent allowed by God's Country.
