Ok so im getting a strop for a lansky's atm I only have enough for one strop hone and paste. So my question is should I just get the strop and use it with no paste or get the strop and get a medium-fine strop paste? This would be after my sapphire stone it would be the final stage till i can get another strop.

You might try it without paste first, just to get a feel for what that does for you (or doesn't do). For most blades of stainless or higher alloy steels, a bare leather strop will be very limited in what it can do, aside from just 'cleaning up' the loose burrs & other weakened remnants of steel left by the stones. If you can't actually see an obvious up-tick in sharpness in using a bare strop, it's likely it isn't doing much for you (and this assumes all the work on stones was up to par, and produced a fully-apexed & crisp edge). That's when you might want to try some paste or other compound.
