Decided to go for a stick tang with a hatchet handle. Moved the handle all the way up to the edge. Once I cut down the tang I annealed it as to not worry as much about breakage. Then I burned the tang into the wooden hatchet handle. It is pinned, epoxied, has an aluminum bolster, and superglued jute twin wrap around the ricasso area.
Handles like a DREAM. The edge is a razor.



Next up is a wooden scabbard for it.
 
Dude... the overall shape of this thing is awesome!
It looks like a very positive, secure grip. I bet it feels really good in hand.
