Ontario 498 combat knife vs Ka-Bar USMC

Hi, recently came across both the knives....Pls recommend better one interms of dimension, blade alloy quality, build quality, tang/blade thickness, overall performance, key differences etc......How SP series of ontario is better/inferior than these??

Same basic specs on both. Same knife made by different manufacturers. Case still makes one too.

The Ka-Bar has a glossier, prettier blade & handle finish & has an oval handle. The Ontario has a rougher finish & a round handle, & costs less.

The Spec Plus version (SP1) has a glossy black blade coating & what are to me much more comfortable kraton handles, but without the flat metal pommel for pounding things, & a lanyard hole. Its' a great knife, especially for the money.
