Haven't seen much discussion of this knife. Looks functional for this type knife and looks to have a comfortable handle. Unfortunately those looks end where the handle meets the blade. That funny looking horn will keep this one out of my collection.

WOOHOO!! a fixed blade Gunting!:D Looks pretty darn nice to me, for what it is, especially considering that purty is as purty does, and Bram teaches some pretty wicked uses for that horn. I hope he does well with this one, and hope the Gunting returns some day in some form or another.

I really like the looks of those built-in guards. Can't find a Canadian online retailer of them, though.

Also, does anyone know if they come in different blade shapes than those in the photo? I don't like the narrow, fragile-looking point, or the sharpened top edge, but I'd still be really interested in checking those out.

Guys, this is a pure fighting blade, not a utility blade. All the features mentioned as "undesirable" are exactly the features that make it an awesome fighting knife... i.e. the point, the sharpened swedge and the gunting. If any of those things were changed it would no longer have the same function.

Peace-
Cam

The Abaniko is a damn fine knife. I carried one in the on deployment and it got a lot of use from me and attention from everyone and anyone that saw it. I'm surprised that Ontario isn't seeling it through AAFES and the Navy Exchange. They'd sell a ton of them based upon looks alone.

Contact Target Knives http://www.targetknives.com/ They're in Canada and just ordered some Abanikos from us at the SHOT show. They may not have them up on their web site yet but they do have them on order.

This is a 10 year old thread. Also, you are violating the rules by asking about price as a non paying member, buying/selling out side of the exchange, and/or trying to sell with out a gold member ship.

Sheath looks nice though.

Sorry, I have deleted the posts. Most boards do not want you starting a new thread if there is already one in existence, so I assume that would be the case here.

Thank you for the compliment on my sheath.
