Was looking at the different models of the Ontario Afghan series. Noticed there was a regular Afghan and a Bush series Afghan. Is there any differences between the two? I remember the information on Ontario's website not being entirely correct/updated.

I don't know the specific numbers, but the bush series knives are thinner than the original Afghan. Hope I was some help.

Both are made from 5160 High Carbon Steel. The RD or Ready Deployment ones are 1/4" thick while the Bush series are 3/16" thick, according to the CRKS website. If you are ever lucky enough to find a "RD Signature Series" 4 or 6, they are 3/8" thick. ALL are AWESOME knives. Justin Gingrich K'sWTF he is doing.

Don't let anyone tell you that a thick blade can not be sharp !!!

The BK2 on the left is 1/4" thick. RD 6 Ss on the right is 3/8" thick.

i find the handles on these kmives very un comfortable with heavy use. They literally feel like slabs of micarta attached to the blade with minimal profiling and sharp edges.

To each thier own. I like it so far. If i ever find it uncomfortable or have hot spots, I will break out the DREMEL tool. It is still an excellent hard use knife for a great price, sheath---not so much.

Those Signature series are not only extremely thick but they are S7 shock steel. It's got higher strength and impact numbers than most all other steels you will see on knives, 3V and Infi included.

This is from the OKC online catalog. Kinda confusing

RD-6 Signature Series w/Orange- Black Handle
